How do you pay the rent and what is your slash? I’m an apparel designer at a large active wear company, can you guess where? ha…. But I am also an avid crafter who loves to travel and goes to maybe a few too many happy hours!
What do you create? A lot. Daily I am drawing clothing. But often times I am making it at home by hand. I love making old ugly things pretty and functional so I am pretty handy with paintbrushes and power tools as well.
How did you land in Portland? I went to school in Colorado and really had no intention of ever coming back to Oregon. But I got a job here that I couldn’t pass up and have been here for 4 years…. Now I can’t imagine myself living anywhere else, this is a pretty great city!
What is the last book you read? I just finished the book “Lucky Child”; it is a sequel to “First they killed my Father” about a girl who survived the genocide movement in Cambodia. This makes me either sound deep or twisted, I promise I am normal; I am just always interested in learning more about places I have visited. But if it helps I also recently read “The Help.”
Name your favorite tattoo. I have always admired people that have colorful sleeves… they are such a beautiful art form… but in all honestly I don’t think I could pull it off! ha
What was the last thing you ate at a food cart? I just had tacos from Ely’s Mexican Cart in Beaverton for lunch…. They were delicious… I am also 90% sure I will be getting a banana nutella crepe tonight from the Perierra Creperie Cart on Hawthorne, I seriously crave them sometimes!
What is your favorite bridge and why? The Vista Bridge, I’ve gotta have loyalty to my neighborhood right? But seriously, it is BEAUTIFUL to look at and standing on it has an amazing view.
Stumptown Coffee or _________? I may be the worst Portlander ever because I don’t like coffee OR real beer… water? haha
Coast or Mountains? Mountains, hands down
Only in Portland moment? For a long time Portland was the only place I visited that basically all restaurants have a regular menu, a vegan one, a gluten free one… ect I love that.
A favorite local business? That is a VERY hard question because there are a TON! I frequent a few places in my neighborhood, but I would have to say my favorite is MuuMuus on 21st… just try their burger or the coconut soup and I am sure you will agree.
Are you a car person or a bike person? I am sad to admit how much I drive. But when I am not commuting to work I would consider myself a walking/MAX person. I am scared to ride my bike; I live on a HUGE hill.
If you could change one thing about Portland, what would it be? I wish things stayed open just a little later… I like that we have a small sleepy town vibe, but our streets are always pretty dead after 10 pm on a weeknight, maybe it’s the weather?
And finally, where can we find you on the web?
