Name & Age: Misha Ashton-Moore, 31
Hometown: So I always had troubles with this question. Would you consider “hometown” as where you have lived the longest or where you grew up. And what part of your childhood is considered in that. I lived in New Orleans until I was 10, and then have bounced back and forth from Portland to Seattle ever since. But have lived in Portland straight up since 2004.
Current Neighborhood: Inner SE
How do you pay the rent and what is your slash? Photographer, art/weddings/fashion/family/the world
What do you create? ART, abstract film photography. Currently working on self publishing my first book entitled, Adventures in Lomography.
How did you land in Portland? I have lived in and around Portland since I was 13. I have lived in inner SE since 2004 and have no thoughts of leaving, EVER!!! Except to travel of course.
What is the last book you read? The Hunger Games Trilogy. A.Mazing. Very reminiscent of the Japanese movie Battle Royal. I read all 3 books in 2 weeks, and that is saying something for me, who normally only has time to read 1 book a year.
Name your favorite tattoo. Hmmm. My right sleeve by Clae Welch, it is an autumn scene with crows and trees and leaves and such. I always want more, but have learned to control my urge.
What was the last thing you ate at a food cart? KOI FUSHION of course. Mmm tacos.
Oregonian, Willamette Week, or Mercury? BBC. Im bad, I don’t read much local news. I get all of my local info from local Portland blogs, which all mostly have to do with arts/craft/design.
What is your favorite bridge and why? Steel Bridge. Its black and rusty. But really, I don’t know, it is my favorite to photograph, so maybe that, or maybe because it is a pedestrian, bike, car and Max friendly bridge.
Stumptown Coffee or _________? Intelligentsia, super yum cracked out coffee high. But next to that, Stumptown of course. Mmmmm coffee.
Coast or Mountains? Why not both. I love camping in the mountains and going to Timberline and hiking. But I also love the coast, mostly Florence Oregon because it is not very touristy. Not only do we have a great camping spot that is never booked up, but sandboarding is our favorite outdoor activity.
Only in Portland moment? Oh Portland. It is all so familiar to me that things most would think are weird are normal. Like the daily commuter who rides a unicycle to work.
A favorite local business? Boutique: Memento PDX. Food cart: Koi Fusion. Resturant: Pok Pok.
Are you a car person or a bike person? Or maybe a walk person. I walk most places, but when I have a bunch of errands I drive and when I have time to spare and just want to have fun, I ride my bike.
If you could change one thing about Portland, what would it be? For it to snow EVERY year, not just every four years or so. Oh and to have just one AMAZING lightning storm every year, just one that’s all I ask!!
And finally, where can we find you on the web? Many places.
