Name & Age: Kirsten Nieman, 28
Hometown: Portland, Oregon
Current Neighborhood: Grant Park
How do you pay the rent and what is your slash? I’m a PR gal at a local agency during the day, and a blogger at www.restoredstyle.com by night.
What do you create? I guess you can say that my husband and I “created” our little NE bungalow, as we’ve given it a series of serious makeovers over the past 4 years. I’m also all about restoring, refurbishing, and upcycling just about anything.
How did you land in Portland? I’ve lived in Portland my whole life (except for the four years I spent in Eugene for college) and I plan on staying here forever. It’s the only definition of “home” I’ve ever known.
What is the last book you read? The 19th Wife by David Ebershoff. A good read.
Name your favorite tattoo. I’m not a tattoo girl. End of story.
What was the last thing you ate at a food cart? A deliciously fatty grilled cheese and bacon sandwich. It was worth every calorie.
Oregonian, Willamette Week, or Mercury? The Oregonian. I grew up reading each section (even the stocks) every morning before school.
What is your favorite bridge and why? The Fremont. It’s especially pretty when the sun is setting.
Stumptown Coffee or _________? I’m a Stumptown Coffee snob, and proud of it.
Coast or Mountains? Mountains, no doubt. I’m in love with Central Oregon. All of it – the smell of fresh mountain air, the hot summers, snowy winters and the views. Heavenly.
Only in Portland moment? I think the Alberta Street Fair yells Portland. I’ve seen things there that I can’t even type.
A favorite local business? Modern Domestic. Hands-down. It’s an inspiring space full of color and creativity. They’ve made sewing cool, fun and fresh.
Are you a car person or a bike person? I hate to admit this, but I need my four wheels.
If you could change one thing about Portland, what would it be? More blue sky days.
And finally, where can we find you on the web? A lot of different places…the internet is truly taking over the world! My heart and soul lives at www.restoredstyle.com, but I can also be found on Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook too.
