Name & Age: Lacy Cooper, 27
Hometown: Salem, OR
Current Neighborhood: Portsmouth (a cool little street where I can say I live in St. Johns or Kenton…which ever is the cat’s meow of the moment)
How do you pay the rent and what is your slash? I am a director & therapist for LINKtherapy, a non-profit here in p-town that provides counseling to people. Its pretty epic because basically my job is to work myself out of a one…ha.
What do you create? On the home front I strive to create the “home” part of our house, I create meals and take pride in feeding people. I also love to create community and relationships, which goes hand in hand with food.
How did you land in Portland? Uhmm had a choice between moving back to Salem after college or “trying to make it” in the big city….easy answer.
What is the last book you read? oy…Hunger Games…all three books and loved them. Only slightly embarrassed to admit this.
Name your favorite tattoo. I love seeing and learning about tattoo’s on others. Love the stories that go behind them.
What was the last thing you ate at a food cart? Any of the thai carts downtown have those like 2-3 dollar lettuce wraps..best deal ever.
Oregonian, Willamette Week, or Mercury? I get the Oregonian delivered but just don’t read it…too depressing…love WW and their catty (i.e. awesome) commentary.
What is your favorite bridge and why? St. Johns. srsly…every morning I almost pinch myself for being so lucky to see it.
Stumptown Coffee or _________? Gonna stick with the local business and say St. Johns Coffee Roasters. Nice people and great coffee! They also deliver to my door weekly….
Coast or Mountains? Coast!
Only in Portland moment? We just took a chicken butchering class from a lady and her hubby in their backyard last friday night…only in Portland.
A favorite local business? All of them? I would like to say Linnton feed store…they are just nice people and WestCoast Fitness…I can get my sweat on and avoid waiting in line at a Redbox.
Are you a car person or a bike person? Car person and won’t apologize or say “I try to ride Trimet” “I also ride my bike” etc etc. I love AC and loud music, car is the only way to go.
If you could change one thing about Portland, what would it be? The segregation in the neighborhoods. How one street can be the invisible line between if your neighbor is black or white. We really need to come together as a community and change this…also all the Washingtonians who use our roads and cause horrible traffic every evening…could do without that too.
And finally, where can we find you on the web?
