Name & Age: Erin Chaney 31
Hometown: Corvallis, Oregon
Current Neighborhood: Humboldt
How do you pay the rent and what is your slash? Pattern maker for Adidas/Mommy to 2 wild boys Oliver 3 & Henri 2/Etsy shop owner (currently neglected…)
What do you create? Fashion accessories & apparel/colorful home/ hopefully sweet well mannered boys
How did you land in Portland? I moved here in April 2008 for college. When I started, it was Bassist College but by September it had become The Art Institute of Portland.
What is the last book you read? I can’t remember the last actual paper book that I have read front to back. I’m pretty sure it was a David Sedaris book….I am currently reading Lies Chelsea Handler Told Me on my kindle.
Name your favorite tattoo. Japanese watercolor style/authentic Japanese artwork.
What was the last thing you ate at a food cart? Pork tacos from KoiFusion. One of the perks of working for Adidas is having occasional food carts come to campus. YUM!
Oregonian, Willamette Week, or Mercury? Oregonlive.com for my news, Willamette Week when standing in the coffee line, but Mercury would be my favorite (though I don’t have much time to read anything besides in bed on my iPad)
What is your favorite bridge and why? St. Johns. I just love the architecture. I’m a sucker for Art Nouveau.
Stumptown Coffee or _________? I’m not super picky, but I do love Barista as well as Stumptown. Really whatever I can get my hands on in the morning.
Coast or Mountains? If I had to choose, the Coast.
Only in Portland moment? I have had 2 this past week both including bicycles. 1. Hipster riding with a dog in his backpack. 2. Another hipster dude texting while riding his bike.
A favorite local business? I do really love Supportland and a girl friend has just opened a nice consignment shop in St. Johns, Consign Couture. I LOVE a bargain! Also, Sit Still Salon in West Linn for the boys’ haircuts & Spielwerks toys. For restaurants I have to say St. Jack. best food in town hands down (and I’m not just saying that because my hubby is the Sous Chef)
Are you a car person or a bike person? I would love to be a bike person and even have a cute retro style beach cruiser, but I am a total fair weather rider meaning I have been driving for a few months now (even though I live 1.25 miles from work)
If you could change one thing about Portland, what would it be? I think that only this I would change would be the acceptance of some more fine dining. Something the hubby and I miss from our year in SF.
And finally, where can we find you on the web?
