I Live Here: Ryan Iverson

Name & Age: Ryan Iverson

Hometown: Lake Oswego, OR

Current Neighborhood: Multnomah Village

How do you pay the rent and what is your slash? Entrepreneur/ Blogger.  Currently unemployed after being at Enterprise for the last 2 ½ years.  Now trying to find my niche and figure out the career path I want.

What do you create? Westcoast Slant Blog, my take on sports with a little bit more favoritism to the left coast.  Pretty much every other sports media outlet skews to the east.  This is my take on what happens in sports on the west.

How did you land in Portland? Met a girl, she moved to the Village, then I married her.  Being from Lake Oswego, I mean Portland isn’t much of a trek from my childhood roots.

What is the last book you read? Hunger Games, because I love teenage sci fi novels.  It’s a three part book series and it was quite the page turner.  Got the book suggested to me by my father in law.

Name your favorite tattoo? Not a big fan of tattoos but if I had to pick I’d say my wife’s tattoo on her hip.  Some sort of celtic symbol meaning 3.

What was the last thing you ate at a food cart? Breakfast brat, right outside of Kells

Oregonian, Willamette Week, or Mercury? Oregonian, good sports column other than most of the junk Canzano writes.

What is your favorite bridge and why? The Fremont, love the flag at the top, it’s cool looking.

Stumptown Coffee or ________ ? OTHER. Yes, love Stumptown coffee from Baristadors on SW Capitol Hwy it’s pretty addicting, real good food and shakes too.  Try to Bailey’s Irish Crème Shake, it is awesome.

Coast or Mountains? Coast for sure, love Lincoln City and Cannon Beach.  I try to make it down there as much as possible cause I always have a good time at the beach.

Only in Portland moment? When the Blazers prevented a new baseball stadium and all that possible revenue Portland would receive from being built.  Instead opting to save the Coliseum as some sort of historical landmark.  When that happened we then lost the Portland Beavers.

A favorite local business? Jimmy’s Sports bar and grill off Multnomah Blvd.  Has great food and is a fantastic spot to catch a game not to mention karaoke on Saturdays nights.

Are you a car person or a bike person? Car for sure, not a fan of many cyclists attitudes either.

If you could change one thing about Portland, what would it be? That we had a baseball team, a professional one would be king, but even a minor league team would be great.  I was really disappointed that they let the Beavers go, I loved those thirsty Thursday nights, and I know I am not the only one.

And finally, where can we find you on the web? Facebook, Twitter under pikehuey3 and of course on my blog, it’s a look at sports but in a humorous way.  That address is https://westcoastslant.wordpress.com
