Tell us a story about Portland and you. The second day I was in Portland, I was walking a friend’s massive dog around Lair Hill. It was the beginning of July and the flower boxes were overflowing onto the sidewalks. Coming around a corner, the dog stopped short. I looked up to see three hens quietly scratching in a makeshift coop. I knew I was home.
