Hometown: PDX, baby.

Current Neighborhood: Laurelhurst

How do you pay the rent and what is your slash? My rugged charm pays my rent. Being the son of the landlord certainly doesn’t hurt. I’m a film editor/recesstime ball-dodger/beard-grower/board-gamer/ethanol consumption specialist.

What do you create? Creating for me requires a handful of my most talented friends. Definitely a cameraperson, and if I’m feeling sassy, someone to do sound or a producer.

How did you land in Portland? Depending on who you ask, I was either brought here via stork, or something about women having gardens and men being gardeners…

What is the last book you read? Last book I finished was Dreadnaught by Cherie Priest. It was alright. I’m currently reading A Wise Man’s Fear by Patrick Rothfuss and it’s blowing my freaking mind with epic fantasy deliciousness.

Name your favorite tattoo. My favorite tattoo is the one I plan on getting this year as part of my 2011 New Year’s resolution. It’s a film cell with a pair of scissors in it. Other than that, I saw a really cute dancer once that had a garter tattooed on her upper thigh with a Derringer in it. That’s got to be the coolest tattoo that I’ve seen.

What was the last thing you ate at a food cart? I eat at food carts almost everyday. Yesterday (October 4th, Taco Day, 2011) I had tacos from a cart on Alder and 10th.

Oregonian, Willamette Week, or Mercury? Like a good nerd, I get my news from an extensive amalgamation of online sources. I don’t really “do” the whole paper media thing.

What is your favorite bridge and why? I like the Burnside bridge. Not only is it awesome because it’s our North-South dividing line, but it just looks so badass when it’s up (and ruining everyone’s day). To me, the Burnside bridge is just right there in the heart of everything.

Stumptown Coffee or _________? Jim & Patty’s, ftw.

Coast or Mountains? Damn you and your tough questions! Uhh… well… I guess coast. While you can’t snowboard at the coast, I find an almost supernatural peace just staring into the waves. I could watch the tide for hours (as long as I had some beer).

Only in Portland moment? A guy I know from meetup.com got a group of folks together to play laser tag at Mt. Tabor park. There was a group of about ten of us ducking and weaving around rocks and trees. It just so happened that the day he picked was the same day as a Live Action Roleplaying (LARP) gathering. Essentially, it led to a group of people running around with plastic guns shooting around and through Orks and Wizards and Elves. Both groups seemed to really have a great time with it. I even made friends with a leather-clad elf chick, which was pretty sweet.

A favorite local business? The aforementioned Jim & Patty’s is my home-away-from-home. Besides both Jim & Patty being close friends of the family, they really think outside the box in terms of baked goods and coffee beverages. I always leave there feeling fat and happy.

Are you a car person or a bike person? Can’t public transit be an option?

If you could change one thing about Portland, what would it be? So, I know that the rain makes this place green, but I could use a lot less of it. I could use more sun and longer days in the non-summer months. Basically, I just want to be outside and dry all the time. Get on it, Portland.

And finally, where can we find you on the web? I tweet at a middle-school level, I’m a high-functioning facebook narcissist, and my film company, Scissorbot LLC (www.scissorbot.com), has a website that needs updating stat!
